(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) Brandon Kinzer and his #18 team traveled south
to the Volunteer State of Tennessee last weekend to compete in a
pair of high-profile Dirt Late Model events. On Saturday, March
17, Brandon timed in eleventh quickest during qualifying for the
annual 'Shamrock 60' at the Cleveland Speedway in Cleveland, Tennessee.
The Allen, Kentucky native then led most of his heat race before
being passed by Scott Bloomquist late in the event. During the course
of the 60-lap, $7,500 to win A-Main, Brandon made his way up to
fifth before breaking the end off a shock due to the ultra-rough
track conditions. He was relegated to a disappointing fourteenth
place finish in the final rundown of the O'Reilly Southern Allstars
Series sanctioned event.
On Sunday, March 18, the Kinzer Motorsports team invaded the Tazewell
Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee for a $3,000 to win Advance Auto
Parts Thunder Series show. After timing in eighth fastest in qualifying
and finishing third in his dash, Brandon rolled off sixth for the
A-Main. BK was up to fifth during the early stages of the feature
before breaking the ring and pinion. The mechanical problem, which
led to a twenty-fourth place performance, was most likely due to
the rough racing surface at Cleveland the night prior.
Brandon and the Kinzer Motorsports team will travel to Tennessee
again this Friday evening, March 23 for a $2,000 to win event at
the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. They are set to
debut a new GRT racecar at Bulls Gap on Friday in hopes of shaking
the car down before their trip to the Brownstown (IN) Speedway for
the annual $10,000 to win 'Indiana Icebreaker' on March 31. For
