Brandon Kinzer Heads to Cleveland County Fresh Off Tripleheader
Weekend!
(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) Brandon Kinzer and his #18 team were ultra-busy
last weekend, as they entered a trio of Dirt Late Model events in
Alabama. Brandon's busy extended weekend kicked-off last Thursday,
April 24 at the Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, Alabama with the
$3,000 to win 'Road to Dega 50.' He timed in second quickest in
qualifying, which earned him the outside front row starting spot
for the 50-lap A-Main. After jumping out into the lead on the initial
start of the race, Brandon was penalized during an early caution
period for jumping the start. Disappointed by the decision, the
Allen, Kentucky native kept his cool and wound up a solid third
in the final rundown behind winner Ray Cook and runner-up Shane
Clanton.
The action then turned to the Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga,
Alabama on Friday and Saturday night for a pair of Dirt Late Model
shows. On Friday night at TST, Brandon was third fastest in qualifying
prior to running sixth in the $2,000 to win A-Main. The O'Reilly
Southern Allstars Series (OSAS) sanctioned Saturday's race at the
"Hornet's Nest," as a $5,000 top prize was up for grabs.
Unfortunately for the #18 team, Brandon drew an early number in
qualifying and then missed transferring into the starting field
by one spot in his B-Main. You can view complete results from the
action-packed weekend online at www.greenvalleyspeedway.com

"It was an up-and-down weekend for us in Alabama," commented
Kinzer this week. "I was actually better at Green Valley than
I thought I was going to be and I expected a little more from our
Talladega trip. We just drew an early number on Saturday and that
place definitely picked up as qualifying went on. Then in the B-Main,
we missed on tires and subsequently missed the race by one position."
The Kinzer Motorsports team will now turn their sights to the Cleveland
County Speedway in Lawndale, North Carolina this upcoming weekend.
A $5,000 to win Carolina Clash Late Model Series race is planned
for the newly-renamed facility on Friday, May 2, while the annual
$10,000 to win 'Skyler Trull Memorial' will take place at Cleveland
County on Saturday evening. You can learn more about both of these
races online at www.clevelandcountyspeedway.com.
