(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) The Kinzer Motorsports team invaded the Talladega
Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama over the weekend and Brandon Kinzer
walked away with two top five efforts! On Friday night, April 27,
Brandon turned in a strong fourth place performance in the $2,000
to win, unsanctioned main event. The O'Reilly Southern Allstars
Series came to TST on Saturday evening and a $5,000 top prize was
up for grabs.
The Allen, Kentucky native timed in fifth quickest in qualifying
for the 50-lap A-Main and Brandon rolled off from the inside of
the third row for the feature event. During the course of the 'O'Reilly
Auto Parts 50,' Brandon found himself battling in the top five throughout
the race and occasionally for the lead. With the track displaying
multiple racing grooves, the action was two and three-wide throughout
the field. When the checkered flag fell over the stout field, BK
was credited with a very impressive third place finish behind winner
Dale McDowell and runner-up Danny Peoples. You can view complete
results from the weekend online at www.talladegashorttrack.com!
"It was a very good weekend for us," quoted Kinzer today
via telephone. "The track was in awesome shape, as it usually
is, and the racing was very good all weekend. There were a lot of
good cars on hand, so it felt good to have our GRT car up front
each night. Hopefully, we can have another strong night at 201 this
Saturday night. I always like racing in front of the local fans
and it should be a lot of fun!"
Brandon and the Kinzer Motorsports team will make the short five
mile trek to the 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky on Saturday evening,
May 5 for a $1,500 to win show. There is also a $500 prize for the
driver that sets fast time during the qualifying session. You can
