Brandon Kinzer Scheduled to Take Weekend Off Following
Cleveland County…
(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) The Kinzer Motorsports team invaded the Cleveland
County Speedway in Lawndale, North Carolina last weekend to compete
in a pair of high-profile Dirt Late Model events. After a solid
seventh place finish in the $5,000 to win Carolina Clash Late Model
Series show on Friday night, May 2, Brandon Kinzer was looking for
another strong top ten on Saturday evening at the newly renamed
facility.
The annual 'Skyler Trull Memorial' took place on Saturday at Cleveland
County and a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs. Brandon timed in
tenth quickest in qualifying and later won his B-Main to earn the
eighth starting spot for the 58-lap feature event. BK was up to
sixth in the running order of the 'Skyler Trull Memorial' when he
retired from the race on lap 47 with a broken throttle linkage.
The Allen, Kentucky native wound up fifteenth in the final rundown
of the A-Main. You can view complete results online at www.clevelandcountyspeedway.com!
Due to the unfortunate and untimely passing of crew chief Jimmy
Cabral's father, Bruce Cabral, the Kinzer Motorsports team WILL
NOT be in racing action at the 201 (KY) Speedway on Saturday, May
10 like originally scheduled. The #18 team apologizes to any fans
that were planning on watching Brandon Kinzer in action on Saturday...
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Jimmy and the entire Cabral
family at this time," emphasized Kinzer today via telephone.
"Bruce will be sorely missed and his passing came as a shock
to us all. I was looking forward to racing in front of friends and
family this weekend at 201, but hopefully everyone understands that
there are more important things in life than racing."
The #18 team would like to thank the following marketing partners
for their continued loyalty and support: Kinzer Drilling Company,
Eastco Supply, Quality Oil & Gas, Art's Radiator & Welding,
Fibertech Carbon Fiber Roofs, Beaver Bail Bonds, Commonwealth Chiropractic
Center, GRT Race Cars, Base Racing Fuels, Ride Honda.com, Competition
