(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) The Kinzer Motorsports team invaded the legendary
Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana last Wednesday night,
May 16 for a $10,000 to win World of Outlaws Late Model Series show.
Brandon Kinzer timed his #18 GRT machine in eleventh quickest of
the nearly fifty entrants in qualifying. The Allen, Kentucky native
later turned in a fifth place performance in his ultra-competitive
heat race prior to winning his consolation event. Brandon then started
the 50-lap 'Hall of Fame Classic' feature event from the outside
of the ninth row. After fifty green flag racing laps, BK found himself
credited with an eighteenth place finish. You can view complete
results from this race online at www.worldofoutlaws.com!
Brandon was back in action at the nearby 201 Speedway in Sitka,
Kentucky on Saturday evening, May 19, as a $1,500 top prize was
up for grabs. After a fourth place finish in his heat race, Brandon
was on the move during the A-Main. He was up to the fifth spot on
the final circuit before a car spun in front of him and BK basically
had to come to a stop to avoid him. Unfortunately, everyone had
already taken the white flag and a caution did not fly, so Brandon
had to settle for a tenth place outing.
"It was a decent week for us," commented Kinzer this
week. "At Brownstown on Wednesday, there were a lot of good
cars there and a lot of those cars went home without even making
the show. So, it was good to make the feature and get some more
laps around that place. Then at 201 on Saturday, that place was
wide open, which made it hard to pass. I got up to fifth during
the feature until the last lap. When that car spun out in front
of me, I had to make the decision either to junk both of us or come
to a stop. Unfortunately that cost us five spots, but that is how
it goes sometimes."
The Kinzer Motorsports team has a couple of high-profile events
on their schedule for the Memorial Day holiday weekend. On Friday
and Saturday, May 25-26, the West Plains Motor Speedway in West
Plains, Missouri will play host to the annual 'Show-Me 100.' The
unsanctioned mega-event will pay $41,000 to the winner on Saturday
evening and $4,100 just to start the A-Main. Then on Sunday, the
action will turn to the Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois
for the second annual 'Fed-Ex 50.' The UMP event will pay $10,000
to win on Sunday, May 27 at the St. Louis area venue. For more information
