Brandon Kinzer Scores Top Five at Bulls Gap; Takes Upcoming
Weekend Off…
(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) The Kinzer Motorsports team traveled to the Volunteer
Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tennessee on Saturday night, May 31 to round
out their busy month of May. The ultra-fast Volunteer State speedplant
held the unsanctioned 'Pontiac Excitement 50' last Saturday and
a $3,000 top prize was up for grabs. Brandon Kinzer was strong all
evening, as he qualified well and later ran fifth in his dash. The
Allen, Kentucky native then rolled off from the inside of the third
row for the 50-lap main event and was able to gain one position
en route to a fourth place performance behind winner Vic Hill, Rick
Rogers, and Jeff Maupin. You can view complete results from this
race online at www.volunteerspeedway.com!
"We broke a rotor about the halfway point in the race,"
commented Kinzer this week. "I felt like I could run with those
guys ahead of me, but with no brakes the last half of the race,
things were awfully tricky out there. The track was bad fast all
night long and the last thing I wanted to do was to wad up a car,
so I was happy to salvage a fourth place finish."
Brandon and his #18 Dirt Late Model team is scheduled to take the
upcoming weekend, June 6-7, off from racing action, as Brandon has
family commitments all day on Saturday. The team will jump back
into competition in a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tripleheader
weekend from June 12-14 in Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. More
information concerning the races at Duck River, North Georgia, and
Talladega will be made available in next week's press release!
