(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) Brandon Kinzer and his #18 team traveled south
last weekend for a trio of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series events.
Brandon's best effort came in the weekend finale on Saturday evening,
June 16 at the Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama. After
winning his heat race, BK rolled off from the pole position for
the $10,000 to win feature event, which was taped by the SPEED Channel
cameras for viewing later in the year. The Allen, Kentucky native
ran up front for the entire 50 laps, eventually bringing his pristine
#18 GRT entry home with a third place finish behind winner Jimmy
Owens and runner-up Wendell Wallace.
Earlier in the weekend, Brandon competed at both the Duck River
Speedway in Wheel, Tennessee and the North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth,
Georgia. He finished second in his heat race before winding up eleventh
in the $7,000 to win A-Main at Duck River on Thursday night, June
14. At North Georgia on Friday, Brandon made a valiant effort from
the back of the consolation event, but missed out on a transfer
spot into the $7,000 to win feature event by one position. You can

"I was pretty pleased with how the weekend went, especially
on Saturday night at Talladega," commented Kinzer. "That
is one of my favorite tracks and to run up front there with the
SPEED Channel taping the race, that was pretty cool. We held our
own against some stiff competition and didn't tear anything up,
so I would classify that as a pretty good weekend."
The Kinzer Motorsports team will take the upcoming weekend (June
22-23) off from Dirt Late Model competition. The next time they
will take to the track will be on Saturday night, June 30 at the
201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky. A $3,000 top prize is on the line
at 201, as the O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Series invades
the nearby speedplant. You can view Brandon's tentative schedule
