(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) The Kinzer Motorsports team earned a pair of
sixth place finishes over the weekend in their home state of Kentucky
and the Buckeye State of Ohio. Their doubleheader weekend kicked
off on Saturday evening, June 30 at the 201 Speedway in nearby Sitka,
Kentucky. Following a disappointing qualifying effort in the $3,000
to win O'Reilly NARA Battle of the Bluegrass Series show, Brandon
Kinzer transferred into the A-Main through his consolation event.
He rolled off from the inside of the tenth row and worked his way
by thirteen cars en route to an impressive sixth place performance.
On Sunday, the action turned to the Portsmouth Raceway Park in
Portsmouth, Ohio for a $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt
Series event. BK ran third in his heat race to earn the thirteenth
starting spot for the 75-lap feature event. Brandon advanced several
spots in the early portion of the race before the track conditions
turned one-lane. He was forced to ride in line throughout the rest
of the race and wound up sixth in the final rundown. You can view
complete results from the pair of races online at www.battleofthebluegrass.com

"I was very pleased with how the weekend turned out for us,"
stated Kinzer this week. "At 201, I didn't get the lap we needed
in qualifying and we had to dig ourselves out of a hole all night.
Then at Portsmouth, there were a lot of good cars on hand and we
transferred through the heat race. In the feature, I think we had
one of the better cars before the track took rubber. I could get
lower than everyone else coming off the corners, but unfortunately
the track didn't stay racy for long."
Brandon and his #18 team will tackle a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model
Dirt Series events this coming weekend in the Volunteer State of
Tennessee. On Friday evening, July 6, the Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell
will play host to a $10,000 to win show. The same can be said for
the Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, as the "Gap" will
hold another $10,000 to win race on Saturday, July 7. The cameras
of the SPEED Channel will be on hand Saturday at Bulls Gap to tape
all of the exciting, wheel-to-wheel action for broadcast later in
the year! For more information on the doubleheader weekend, please
