(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) Following the grueling O'Reilly Southern Nationals
Series, the Kinzer Motorsports team regrouped last week and later
invaded the nearby 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky on Saturday evening,
August 4. Brandon Kinzer finished a disappointing sixth in his heat
race, but won his consolation event to earn a coveted starting spot
in the 'Walker Prater Pops 40' feature event. During the course
of the 40-lap A-Main, BK had his #18 GRT machine on a rail and passed
a plethora of cars en route to a solid fifth place performance.
Brandon wound up following winner Josh McGuire, Tim Dohm, Eddie
Carrier, Jr., and Terry Hicks to the checkered flag.
"It was a good run for us, but it could have definitely been
better if we had started a little closer to the front," commented
Kinzer today. "We chose the wrong tires for the heat race and
that put us in the B-Main, which we won. Then in the feature, I
just needed a couple of more cautions to help bunch up the field.
That place usually has tons of yellow flags, but there were only
two last Saturday night."
Brandon and his #18 team will now turn their sights to the Wythe
Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia this Saturday night, August 11.
The Carolina Clash Late Model Series will play host to a $4,000
to win event on Saturday at the Wytheville area oval. Brandon has
made one stop at Wythe so far in 2007, as he registered a twelfth
place performance in an O'Reilly Southern Nationals Series show
a few weeks back. You can view more information concerning this
