Brandon Kinzer Fourth in Bluegrass Classic at Bardstown; 201
Up Next this Saturday!
(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) Brandon Kinzer and his #18 Dirt Late Model team
invaded the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana (August
28) and the Bluegrass Speedway in Bardstown, Kentucky (August 29)
last weekend for a pair of $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt
Series events. On Friday night at Lawrenceburg, Brandon ran third
in his heat race to earn the outside sixth row starting spot in
the 50-lap main event. The Allen, Kentucky native was heading to
a probable top ten finish in the A-Main at the newly renovated facility
until overheating problems sent him pitside with an eighteenth place
effort.
At Bardstown on Saturday evening, another $10,000 top prize was
up for grabs and a stout 51 car field was in attendance. Brandon
won his competitive heat race and later rolled off fourth on the
grid in the annual 'Bluegrass Classic.' In front of the SPEED Channel
cameras and a large crowd, Brandon ran third early in the 60-lapper
before finishing in the fourth position behind only winner Ray Cook,
Chris Wall, and Dale McDowell. You can view complete results from
both races online at www.lucasdirt.com.
The Kinzer Motorsports team will now turn their attention to the
nearby 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky on Saturday, September 5.
The O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Dirtcar Series will preside
over a $5,000 to win show this Saturday night. Brandon plans to
unload his GRT chassis at 201, as his new Rocket racecar will be
manicured for the upcoming 'World 100' at the Eldora (OH) Speedway.
