(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) Brandon Kinzer invaded the famed Eldora Speedway
in Rossburg, Ohio over the weekend for the 37th Annual 'World 100.'
On Friday night, September 7, Brandon timed in sixty-seventh quickest
of the 203 cars in attendance to earn a coveted starting spot in
one of the six heat races. After Mother Nature postponed the racing
action on Saturday, the "Big E" came back to life on Sunday
afternoon, September 9.
Unfortunately for the Allen, Kentucky native, a ninth place run
in his heat race preceded an unfortunate wreck in the B-Main. Brandon's
#18 GRT machine was badly damaged in a turn three incident during
the consolation event that brought out a red-flag situation. Needless
to say, he was done for the afternoon and was forced to watch the
'World 100' from the grandstands. You can view complete results
from the prestigious race, which was won by Jimmy Owens, online
at www.eldoraspeedway.com.
"It just wasn't our weekend," simply stated Kinzer this
week via telephone following Eldora. "The track was not to
my liking during qualifying on Friday night and that put us behind
the rest of the weekend. It was hammer-down around the cushion on
the top during qualifying and that is really not my cup of tea.
Then in the B-Main on Sunday, we were just at the wrong place at
the wrong time and got caught up in that wreck. Hopefully, our upcoming
weekend will go a lot smoother at Wythe."
The Kinzer Motorsports team will be back in action this Saturday
evening, September 15 at the Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Virginia.
The Carolina Clash Late Model Series will play host to a $4,000
to win event tomorrow evening. You can view more information concerning
this race online at www.carolinaclash.com.
